Sharnea Diamond McCoy, 21, and Erica Italy Osburn, 25, both of Detroit, pleaded guilty to second-degree murder and felony firearm violations. Both were originally charged with first-degree murder.

McCoy was behind the wheel while Osburn fired shots.

Rose-Robinson's mother addressed each murderer individually at sentencing.

“This has been the longest 11 months and seven days of my life,” Latrice Foster, Rose-Robinson’s mother said.

“You were non-remorseful when you were arrested,” Foster said. “You talked about it in jail as if killing my son a joke.”

Rose-Robinson was walking out of a store with a friend when an SUV pulled up and shots were fired at the two teens, police said.

Authorities said Osburn fired the shots from the passenger seat of the SUV driven by McCoy.

The investigation showed Osburn and McCoy shot Rose-Robinson because he laughed when someone made a comment about their body.

McCoy was sentenced to 16 to 40 years and Osburn was sentenced to 27 to 50 years in prison.
