Crash on Telegraph in Pontiac turns deadly after 79-year-old man dies
Chrysler Sebring slams into back of semi-truck in northbound lanes near Orchard Lake Road
PONTIAC, Mich. – A 79-year-old man has died after he crashed into the back of a semi-truck Wednesday on Telegraph Road in Pontiac.
The northbound lanes, just north of Orchard Lake, were closed for several hours for the accident investigation.
Police said a Chrysler was behind the semi and attempted to change lanes when it side swiped a 2006 Dodge Sprinter van that was being driven by a 55-year-old from Metamora. After hitting the van, the Chrysler ended up behind the semi, rear ending it.
The Oakland County Medical Examiner's Office said the man, whose name has not yet been released, ended up dying from his injuries. He was a resident of Independence Township.
The drivers of the Dodge van and semi were not injured.
