1 year later: DMC leader's death still unsolved
Carlos Buffin found robbed, beaten to death in April 2013
DETROIT – Crime Stoppers is offering a $2,500 reward to find the person responsible for killing a man whose body was found in the trunk of his car last spring in Detroit.
Carlos Buffin, 52, was found dead April 15, 2013, near Biltmore and Thatcher streets. Buffin was a team leader at the Detroit Medical Center and a father of two.
"My brother Carlos was a nice, kind young man that really loved the Lord," said Buffin's sister, Eulalia Lovelace. "It's devastating to us because our heart is still broken. It hasn't mended back."
Police say whoever killed Buffin stole his $2,500 tax refund, wallet and glasses.
If a tip that is called in on Thursday leads to an arrest, Crime Stoppers will add an additional $1,000 to the reward.
Tips can be left anonymously at 800-SPEAKUP.
