Woman killed in hit-and-run accident on Detroit's east side
A woman was killed Tuesday night in a hit-and-run accident on Detroit’s east side.
The accident happened at East Davison and Caldwell streets, west of Mound Road, around 10:30 p.m.
The woman was crossing when she was struck by a red or burgundy colored minivan. The driver left the scene.
There are no crosswalks on East Davison Street in the area, but it brightly lit. Another vehicle saw what happened and tried to help.
The woman is between 35 and 40 years old. She has not been identified.
Police are asking for the public’s help in finding the driver. Call CrimeStoppers at 1-800-Speakup with information.
