Dearborn Heights father was previously convicted of murder

DEARBORN HEIGHTS, Mich. – The suspected killer of four children in Dearborn Heights was previously convicted of murder and spent time in prison.

Sources say the man in custody pleaded no contest to second-degree murder in 1992 and served 16 years. He went to prison in March 1993 and was paroled in April 2008.

He pleaded no contest to killing his then wife, who was six months pregnant, by stabbing her to death. After he did so, he called police, told them what he had done and waited for them to arrive and let them in. This took place in Detroit at his home.

While in prison, he did not have much of a record. He had one fighting ticket in 2002, when he and another prisoner got into a fist fight over a TV.

He was denied parole four time for various reasons, but they all centered around the main idea that he had not shown remorse for his crime, had not gained adequate insight, and had a lack of empathy. After being denied four times, he completed several cognitive based programs and was paroled in 2008.

Fast forward to now: According to authorities, the man called police at about 1:30 a.m. Wednesday to say he murdered his family and waited on the front porch to surrender.

The man’s 4-year-old girl and 5-year-old girl were killed by carbon monoxide poisoning in a car and their bodies were later moved inside the home.

His 17-year-old stepdaughter, identified as Kara Allen, and his 19-year-old stepson, Chadney J. Allen, were shot execution style in the basement of the home.

The mother, Faith Green, was shot and stabbed. She is listed in fair condition.

Police said they’ve been to the home in the past for prior domestic violence situations.
