Police seek armed man who carjacked woman in Downtown Detroit

Man got away with Dodge Stratus, personal items

DETROIT – The Detroit Police Department is asking for the public's help identifying a man wanted in connection with a carjacking in Downtown Detroit.

Police said the man approached a 26-year-old woman around 10:55 p.m. Wednesday in the 700 block of Beaubien Street. He rode up to her on a gold bicycle and pointed a handgun at her, demanding her car keys and personal items, police said.

The woman complied and was not injured.

The man got away with a Dodge Stratus and other items.

Police said the man is in his 20s, 5 feet, 3 inches tall and weighs 150 pounds. He has a medium complexion and a goatee. He was wearing a dark-colored Michigan hooded sweatshirt and blue jeans. He has two moles in the area of his right cheek.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Detroit Police Department.
