REDFORD TOWNSHIP, Mich. – Redford Township police are searching for a man who walked into the backyard of a home and asked a teenage boy to go for a ride.

Police said the man got out of his car Thursday on Denby Street near 7 Mile Road and walked into the backyard of a home. He walked up to a teenage boy and asked if he wanted to go for a ride.

According to police, the boy asked where they would go for a ride, and the stranger said, "You'll see."

When the teenager declined, the man left the yard and drove away.

There was no physical contact and the man didn't try to persuade the teen to go with him.

The man was described as being in his late 20s with dark hair. He was wearing a white tank top and denim shorts.

He drove away in a dark green rust-covered car with a black driver's side door.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Redford Township Police Department at 313-387-2555.
