Westland police are seeking a woman who stole an elderly woman's wallet Feb. 9, 2019. (WDIV)

WESTLAND, Mich. – Westland police are looking for a woman who stole a wallet dropped by an elderly woman last month.

Police said the victim dropped her wallet about 4 p.m. Feb. 9 at a store in the area of Cherry Hill and Merriman roads. A woman grabbed the wallet and quickly left the store.

The woman is described as white with blonde or light brown, wavy hair. She is about 30-40 years old and has a thin build. She was wearing a black coat and black and white pants, which may have had a camouflage pattern.

Anyone with information about the theft is asked to call police at 734-721-3179.

Westland MI – (March 15, 2019) Westland Police attempt to identify a subject wanted for the larceny of a wallet. The Westland Police are attempting to identify the subject shown in this video for stealing a wallet that had been dropped by an elderly woman. The incident occurred on February 3rd, 2019 at approximately 4:00 p.m. at a store in the area of Cherry Hill and Merriman Rd. Video shows that after the elderly victim drops her wallet, the unknown white female retrieves the wallet from the ground and quickly exits the store. The subject is described as a white female, approximately 30-40 years old, with blond or light brown wavy hair. She appears to have a thin build, and is wearing a black coat and black and white pants, possibly camouflage pattern.
