Family and friends shared tears and laughs at the Grosse Pointe Academy as they spoke about what made Logan Connolly, 9, and Briggs Connolly, 11, so special to the community.

“I can’t believe the amount of love everybody has given us,” said Azucena Beltran-Connolly.

Beltran-Connolly spoke about her two sons as her husband embraced her. She said Briggs loved art and Logan wanted to become a chef.

“They were full of life,” Beltran-Connolly said. “Full of aspirations and full of joy.”

Beltran-Connolly’s culture was presented through the emotional event, sharing Día de Muertos “Celebration of Life” with the community.

The family said they want the community to remember the good times with Logan and Briggs and not the way they lost their lives.
