Woman run over after climbing onto moving truck during argument in Monroe, police say

25-year-old woman in critical condition

MONROE TOWNSHIP, Mich. – A 25-year-old woman was critically injured Tuesday when she tried to climb onto a moving pickup truck, fell off and got run over during an argument in Monroe County, police said.

The incident happened at 3:02 a.m. Tuesday within the Oakridge Estates Mobile Home Park in Monroe Township, according to authorities.

Officials said several people were at a home on Tamarak Trail when an argument broke out. Three people got into a 1995 Ford F-350 pickup truck and tried to leave the scene, police said.

The 25-year-old woman climbed onto the side of the truck as it began to accelerate, according to officials. She fell from the truck onto the road was was run over as the truck continued, police said.

Authorities said the pickup fled the scene after the crash. It was found in Carleton, officials said.

The woman was taken to St. Vincent’s Hospital in Toledo in critical condition, medical officials said.

Police said nobody else was injured during the crash.
