Amir Boykins hit by SUV Monday night

DETROIT – A hit-and-run crash Monday left Amir Boykins, 19, on a ventilator.

The crash also broke both of Boykins’ legs and his jaw. He was struck by an SUV while crossing the road in the area of Greenfield Road and Grand River Avenue.

“The guy that found him, he said that when the SUV hit him, the truck stripped him half naked in the street,” said Tasha Boykins, Amir Boykins’ mother.

Amir Boykins, who is in critical condition, does not have health insurance, and his family is already struggling due to his mother’s health.

“I have lupus, so Amir is going to require a lot of care, so I have to come up with money for a new house so Amir can get the medical help that he needs,” Tasha Boykins.
