Trenton school calls 911 after 5-year-old student walks out

TRENTON, Mich. – Anderson Elementary School officials called police Wednesday after a 5-year-old student walked out of the school in Trenton.

The kindergarten student was scheduled to be picked up in the office by a parent for an early dismissal, but the school said she exited the school and walked off alone.

The 911 call lasted more than seven minutes as residents scrambled to find the young girl.

She was found safely almost a half mile away at a church.
