2 arrested in connection with armed robbery at Oakland County park

OAKLAND COUNTY, Mich. – The Oakland County Sheriff’s Office announced Thursday two men were charged in connection to armed robbery at Addison Oaks County Park.

According to authorities, a 17-year-old Oxford Township resident was robbed at gunpoint and assaulted by two men Aug. 18.

Police said the two men were identified as Elijah Dominque McKinnon and Calide Aaron Gordy.

During the investigation, detectives from the Oakland County Sheriff’s Office Parks Unit were able to identify the two men, the vehicle and handgun used in the robbery, and were able to recover the items stolen from the victim. Police said the handgun had been stolen a few days before the robbery.

Police said McKinnon and Gordy were arrested in Bay County in August on suspicion of committing unlawful driving away of auto, home invasion, identity theft, armed robbery, and several other crimes in multiple other jurisdictions.

McKinnon, a 22-year-old resident of Rochester Hills, and Gordy, a 21-year-old resident from Detroit, were both arraigned on charges of armed robbery and felony firearm.

Both are expected to return to court Dec. 3.
