Detroit ranked among one of top 10 vegan friendly cities in US

Motor city wins top honors for revved-up vegan food scene

DETROIT – The results are in for PETA’s 2019 ranking of the top 10 vegan-friendly cities in the US and Detroit has landed a spot on the list, coming in at fifth place, thanks to its abundance of vegan twists on standard American fare.

"From sumptuous soul food to nachos, pizza, veggie dogs, and more, the Motor City is fueling a thriving vegan dining scene that's showing no sign of slowing down," says PETA Executive Vice President Tracy Reiman. "The number of American vegans grew by 600% in just three years, and the cities on PETA's list are meeting the skyrocketing demand for animal-friendly fare."
