Former president of Crime Stoppers fights off carjacker in Grosse Pointe Farms

GROSSE POINTE FARMS, Mich. – John Broad is the former president of Crime Stoppers. He started the organization, but never thought he’d find himself in one of those situations he comforted so many families through.

Broad and his wife, Jeanne Broad, were the victims of a would-be carjacker Wednesday night. The couple pulled into a Shell gas station at Mack Avenue and Moross Road at the Detroit-Grosse Pointe Farms border when a man tried to steal their SUV.
