Detroit Police are investigating several break-ins in the Corktown area, including Slows Bar BQ. The popular Detroit restaurant is on Michigan Avenue.
The break-in happened around 4 a.m. Tuesday. When officers arrived, they found a back door open, but no evidence it was forced open.
Then they noticed milk crates stacked next to a storage container. They believe whoever broke in jumped on top of that storage container and then got into a crawl space.
However, the officers couldn’t find anything obvious that was missing, saying the cash register, liquor bottles and other items they would normally suspect were still there.
The owners or managers of the restaurant will have to look further before investigators know for sure whether anything was stolen. Police believe other break-ins also occurred at a collision shop on Michigan Avenue and Johnny Noodle King on West Fort. All three businesses are within one mile of each other.
The officers said it’s too coincidental to happen at the same time and will be looking to see if they’re related.
