Woman turns herself in after deadly hit-and-run of bike rider in Clinton Township

Victim believed to be 40 years old

CLINTON TWP., Mich. – Clinton Township police are investigating a deadly hit-and-run of a woman on a bike Monday morning on eastbound Metro Parkway just east of Gratiot Avenue.

The woman is believed to be about 40 years old.

Eastbound Metro Parkway was closed at Gratiot Avenue for the investigation but has since reopened.

UPDATE: Police said a woman walked into the police department on Monday morning and said she is responsible for the hit-and-run. Police questioned her and she was released pending an investigation. 

The vehicle suspected of being involved in this crash was impounded and is being processed for evidence. 

Clinton Township police said their crash investigation is ongoing and results will be handed over to the Macomb County Prosecutor's Office.
