DETROIT – One of the more popular coffee and bakery businesses in Detroit says it’s closing up shop.
Astro Coffee and Ochre Bakery will close after its final day of service on May 15, according to an Instagram post from Astro.
“It’s hard to really know what to say in these moments, but we are forever grateful for all of the love and support we have been shown over the last 11 years of having a business in this city. For the customers, growers, partners and employees past and present, we could not have been blessed with a better community to be a part of. To every one of our team members, we are so thankful, grateful, humbled by your skill, hard work and dedication. There truly are not enough words to say thank you.”
Astro moved from its Corktown location to Detroit’s Core City neighborhood during the pandemic, where Ochre is located. The two shared a space and a business.
Ochre Bakery was named one of America’s best new restaurants back in 2019.
