Detroit police officer dragged by vehicle said to be drifting in Corktown

Officer taken to hospital, in stable condition

DETROIT – Police are looking for a driver accused of dragging a Detroit police officer early Monday morning.

According to Detroit police, an officer was attempting to stop a driver that was drifting in the area of Bagley Street and Rosa Parks Boulevard, near Corktown. During the attempt, the driver reportedly reversed and dragged the officer, who was on foot.

The police officer was transported to the hospital and is in stable condition, officials said.

No other details have been provided at this time.
