DETROIT – A man was killed in a drive-by shooting Sunday afternoon on Detroit’s east side that is said to be connected with a fatal shooting that occurred later that night.
At about 6:40 p.m., a 21-year-old man was struck by at least one bullet in a drive-by shooting on Dean Street, near Ryan Road and East 7 Mile Road, Detroit police say. He was reportedly sitting on a front porch when a vehicle rolled by and shots were fired.
The injured man was taken to the hospital, though police sources say he has died from his injuries.
Investigators were reportedly looking for a grey or silver car believed to be involved in the shooting. No other investigation details have yet been released.
The drive-by shooting is believed to have led to a retaliatory shooting that occurred later that night just blocks away. One person was killed and three others were injured in the second Sunday shooting.
