Detroit man fatally shot in Dearborn Heights

Police investigating shooting as homicide

DEARBORN HEIGHTS, Mich. – A 21-year-old Detroit man was fatally shot in Dearborn Heights early Thursday morning.

Police have released limited information on the shooting, but here’s what we know. Dearborn Heights police said the shooting happened around 4:26 a.m. on Thursday morning at the intersection of Old Colony and Evergreen roads.

Officers arrived on the scene and located a single victim, a 21-year-old Detroit resident, who had suffered a fatal gun shot wound. It’s unclear if the victim was in a car, or outside of a vehicle.

The victim’s name was not released. Police said the shooting is being investigated as a homicide.

Dearborn Heights police said it appears to be an isolated incident and said there is no larger threat to the public.
