DETROIT – A former reality show TV chef is planning to open his latest restaurant in Downtown Detroit this week.
Fabio Viviani, an Italian chef who competed on Top Chef and has appeared in various other shows, will open his latest concept, Adelina, in the Downtown Detroit space formerly occupied by Calexico, right next to Campus Martius.

Adelina has been under construction in the space along Woodward Avenue for months, and will finally open its doors on Thursday, March 21.
Diners can expect a “marriage of authentic Italian flavors with a vibrant Mediterranean twist, offering a culinary experience that captures the essence of two rich culinary traditions,” according to the website.
Calexico closed in January of 2023.
