2 critically injured due to falling tree in Oakland County

HIGHLAND TOWNSHIP, Mich. – Two men were critically injured after their vehicles were struck by a falling tree Wednesday, June 5.

It happened just before 3 p.m. in Highland Township on South Duck Lake Road, just south of Livingston Road.

According to authorities, a large tree on the west side of the road snapped and fell, landing on the cab of a box truck and the roof of a pickup truck. The driver of the box truck, a 35-year-old man from Ohio, and the driver of the pickup, a 23-year-old man from Highland Township, were rushed to a hospital, where they remain in critical condition.

Both drivers were wearing seatbelts at the time.
