US Marshals arrest suspected driver in DUI that killed motorcyclist on I-75

ERIE TOWNSHIP, Mich. – A 55-year-old man from Ohio accused of causing a fatal DUI in Michigan is facing charges after being arrested by U.S. Marshals.

The crash happened May 25 on I-75. Officials said Christopher L. Taylor -- a 49-year-old from Trenton -- was driving a motorcycle in the northbound lanes when he was side-swiped by a Chevrolet.

Witnesses said the Chevrolet was speeding in the right lane before merging into the center lane, where it struck Taylor. The Chevrolet reportedly traveled off the freeway and struck the median before coming to a stop in the center lane.

Taylor was ejected from the motorcycle. He was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The driver of the Chevrolet -- identified by authorities as Stacey R. Dillard -- was not injured in the crash.

Dillard was taken into custody Oct. 2 by U.S. Marshals and lodged at the Lucas County Jail in Toledo before being extradited to Michigan, where he was charged Tuesday, Oct. 8, with OWI causing death and driving with license suspended causing death.
