19-year-old woman surrenders following fatal shooting outside Eastpointe Foot Locker

EASTPOINTE, Mich. – A 19-year-old woman who was involved in the fatal shooting outside the Foot Locker in Eastpointe has turned herself in.

The 19-year-old Detroit resident’s attorney contacted the Eastpointe Police Department and arranged for her to turn herself in on Monday (May 5).

The shooting occurred on Saturday (May 3) at 2:45 p.m. in the Foot Locker parking lot on Kelly Road and 8 Mile Road.

Police said they located a man deceased upon their arrival, and two more victims sustained gunshot wounds before EMS took them to a Metro Detroit hospital, where one of them succumbed to their injuries.

Shortly after that, officials said another man who sustained gunshot wounds was brought to the same hospital for treatment.

Further investigation revealed that the two groups knew each other and ran into each other in the parking lot. An argument ensued, which turned physical.

Police said the woman retrieved a handgun from the vehicle and started shooting while people were fighting. Officials said the woman fled the scene in a black four-door sedan.
