Burns faces up to life in prison, and is scheduled to be sentenced on July 24.
The random attack happened on May 17, 2023.
Cheryl Ann Parsley, 60, of Clinton Township, stopped at the Belle Tire on Gratiot Avenue in Roseville to put air in her tires when Burns randomly stabbed her and slit her throat, killing her.
After that, Burns attacked Robert Baecke Jr., 42, who was waiting at a bus stop located at 12 Mile Road and Harper Avenue in St. Clair Shores, stabbing him several times.
Police found Burns near Van Dyke and Stephens in Warren later that day.
After Burns was taken into custody, he started biting his wrists. When an officer told him to stop, Burns grabbed a knife from the officer and slit his own wrist.
In addition, when authorities searched Burns’ car, they discovered a shotgun, a 9mm firearm and ammunition.
“Today’s verdict brings a measure of justice to the victims of this horrific attack,” said Macomb County Prosecutor Peter J.
