Ohio man killed in motorcycle crash on I-94 in Detroit

DETROIT – A 22-year-old Ohio man was killed in a motorcycle crash on I-94 in Detroit, according to police.

The crash happened at 11:50 p.m. on Friday, June 27, 2025, in the westbound lanes of I-94 near Lonyo Street.

Michigan State Police said the 22-year-old, from Lakewood, Ohio, was speeding on the motorcycle, weaving in and out of traffic, when he side swiped a car. Police said the 22-year-old was attempting to pass the car on the right shoulder when the crash happened.

The 22-year-old lost control and crashed into the bridge abutment on the right shoulder, then crossed all lanes of traffic and struck a median wall. He was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash.
