Man arrested in string of Macomb County propane tank thefts

SHELBY TOWNSHIP, Mich. – A man accused of stealing more than a dozen propane tanks was arrested in Shelby Township.

According to authorities, police reviewed surveillance footage of the most recent theft and identified the suspect as Nathanael Mangold. He was reportedly linked to several other propane tank thefts over the last month.

Police said they located Mangold’s vehicle and he was taken into custody during a traffic stop.

On Tuesday, Aug. 19, Mangold was charged with felony larceny over $1,000 but less than $20,000. He was given a personal bond and released from custody.
