Oakland County sheriff’s deputies take center court for Sheriff PAL’s 10-year anniversary

Since 2015, Sheriff PAL has provided free sports and mentoring to over 15,000 kids in Metro Detroit

PONTIAC, Mich. – Oakland County sheriff’s deputies hit the hardwood to take on Metro Detroit kids.

The event on Thursday (Aug. 21) was all part of the Sheriff’s PAL 10-year anniversary celebration!

The friendly showdown pitted Pal Youth against the deputies at the UWM Sports Complex in Pontiac.

Since 2015, Sheriff PAL has provided free sports and mentoring to over 15,000 kids in Metro Detroit.

Orangizers said working with those kids was super rewarding.“There really is nothing better than helping each other and helping build friendships, build relationships, and then build their sports skills as well,” said Executive Director, Oakland County Sheriff PAL Lauren Fuller. “It’s just really a priceless feeling for us today.”

Thursday’s game kicked off a year-long celebration leading up to the big “Stars & Sneakers” bash on Sept. 25 at the M1 Concourse.
