Drone delivery takes off in Michigan with more than $4M in state-funded projects Officials say the drones will fly on safe, established “skyways” to avoid collisions
Michigan is stepping into the future — with more than $4 million in grants to boost drone delivery technology.
The work is being spearheaded by the Michigan Advanced Air Mobility Initiative.
One project will see Jack Demmer Automotive use drones to transport high-demand auto parts.
Another project at Munson Healthcare in Traverse City involves using drones to transport medical supplies and lab samples.
Even CVS is trying out drone delivery for prescriptions.
Officials say the drones will fly on safe, established “skyways” to avoid collisions.
