After plenty of sunshine and reasonable temperatures to start the week on Monday, we are going to bring colder air and the chance of winter weather into the forecast for Tuesday.

Expect clouds to increase through the evening and into the overnight hours tonight.

Tuesday

Skies will go mostly cloudy after midnight, but we should remain dry for the majority of the overnight. Overnight lows are dropping into the upper 20s by Tuesday morning.

Throughout the day on Tuesday, expect precipitation to overspread the region.

This should start off as a light dusting of snow in the morning, then change to a rain-snow mix.

This temperature is warm into the upper 30s by Tuesday afternoon.

There may be times when places are warm enough for a few brief rain showers, but we anticipate a rain-snow mix for the majority of the event on Tuesday.

Any rain and snow showers will change over to a few snowflakes before winding down late Tuesday night, and we break up the cloud cover overnight Tuesday night and early on Wednesday morning.

Wednesday

Overnight low is dropping into the upper 20s by Wednesday morning.

We dry things out for the middle of the week on Wednesday, a mixture of sunshine and clouds can be expected. High temperature is warming back into the low 40s by Wednesday afternoon.

Expect the clouds to increase and temperatures to get even warmer as we look ahead to the end of the week.

Thursday

Mostly cloudy skies are expected on Thursday, with high temperatures in the lower 50s by Thursday afternoon.

Friday

Then, we are expecting rain showers to move in as we had throughout the day on Friday.

The data has shifted a little from the end of the weekend, with the bulk of the moisture now moving south of Metro Detroit.

So while we’re not expecting this to be an all-day rain, we will keep the chance of some rain showers in the forecast for the end of the week. High temperature is expected to remain in the lower 50s by Friday afternoon.

Weekend forecast

Sunshine returns to the forecast by the time we look ahead into the upcoming weekend.

Expect high temperatures to drop back into the upper 40s by the start of the weekend on Saturday, then warm back into the low 50s by the end of the weekend on Sunday.
