Police shoot Downriver man during domestic violence response

Man taken to hospital following shooting

BROWNSTOWN TOWNSHIP, Mich. – Michigan State Police are investigating a Downriver police shooting.

It happened Friday, Nov. 28, at about 7:30 p.m. in Brownstown Township.

According to authorities, officers with Brownstown Township police were dispatched to a home on Ingram Drive, near the intersection of Pennsylvania and Beech Daly roads, on a domestic violence report. Police said they spoke with the victim, who told them the suspect had barricaded himself inside the home’s garage.

Police said when the officers encountered the man, he was shot and taken to a hospital for treatment.
