Police in Macomb County nab suspect wanted for Florida armed robbery

SHELBY TOWNSHIP, Mich. – A person accused of armed robbery at a Florida casino was arrested in Macomb County, Michigan.

According to authorities, the Shelby Township Police Department was contacted by the Pasco County Sheriff’s Office in Florida on Nov. 24 regarding a suspect for robbery with a weapon and false imprisonment. The suspect reportedly had robbed a gambling establishment, tied up and assaulted an employee and left in a Dodge pickup truck.

Police were told the suspect has family in Shelby Township and they believe they traveled to Michigan.

The same day that police were contacted, officers located the pickup truck in Shelby Township. The suspect was taken into custody during a traffic stop.
