A convicted sex offender from Detroit, who sex trafficked a woman and two minors, has been sentenced, officials said.

He was convicted of two counts of sex trafficking children and, through force, fraud, or coercion, and one count of sex trafficking an adult through force, fraud, or coercion in July 2025 after a seven-day trial.

Officials said that Giles was required to register as a sex offender in connection with a 1986 criminal sexual conduct conviction.

During his trial, testimony revealed that Giles “exploited his female victims by requiring them to perform commercial sex acts in return for shelter for them and their children,” according to the release.

Two of the victims were under 18 when Giles trafficked them.

Giles would post advertisements for commercial sex for his victims and arrange their commercial sex dates, before collecting the proceeds from the sex acts, officials said.

Witness testimony also revealed that Giles would use hidden cameras to monitor the sex acts. He also used these cameras to direct the sex acts of the adult who was being trafficked.

“The defendant is wicked and loathsome. He forced women and girls to sell their bodies while he watched,” U.S. Attorney Gorgon said. “The court sentenced him. But the full measure of justice is waiting for him.”
