Man dies after house fire in Detroit Fire happened at home on W Parkhurt Place, John R
DETROIT – A man has died after a house fire early Monday morning in Detroit.
The fire happened at a home in the area of John R Street and McNichols Road on Jan. 26, 2026, at around 5 a.m.
Crews arrived at the scene within five minutes and saw heavy flames coming from the back of the house.
Firefighters went into the home and found a man on the first floor. They pulled him out to safety, but he was pronounced dead at the scene.
No one else was in the home at the time of the fire, and no firefighters were injured.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
