Northville Township man linked to multiple teen sex assaults pleads guilty in Wayne County case

Man allegedly used Snapchat to lure teen to his home from across the state

NORTHVILLE TOWNSHIP, Mich. – A man from Northville Township accused of kidnapping and sexually assaulting a 14-year-old girl has pleaded guilty to sexual abuse.

Charles Laurence Willis was arrested by police in Northville Township for reportedly kidnapping and sexually assaulting a 14-year-old girl over two days.

He reportedly lured the girl to his home using Snapchat and bought a two-hour Uber ride for her from Barry County.

Police said Willis instructed the young teen to hide out in the basement of his home.

Police said the girl was found walking alone in the area of 7 Mile and Sheldon roads with a blanket wrapped around her.

On Friday, Jan. 30, Willi pleaded guilty to first-degree criminal sexual conduct and child sexually abusive commercial activity. As part of the plea agreement, eight other felony charges were dismissed.

He will be sentenced Feb. 19, 2026.

In November, Willis pleaded guilty to sexually assaulting a 14-year-old girl from Macomb County. Police said he told the girl and her mother he was 16 years old at the time, when he was actually 21.

In that case, Willis was sentenced to 5 to 15 years in jail and a mandatory lifetime registration as a sex offender.
