Man injured in shooting behind business on Detroit’s west side

Investigators indicated the business does not appear to have been involved in the incident

DETROIT – A man was injured in a shooting behind a business on Detroit’s west side.

The incident occurred on Wednesday, April 15, around 7:20 p.m. in the 11300 block of Dexter Avenue, where police said there were reports of a non-fatal shooting.

Police said the victim suffered injuries that were not considered life-threatening and was transported to a Metro Detroit hospital.

Officials said the shooting occurred behind a liquor store near Collingwood Street.

No suspect information was released.
