DETROIT – Questions have been circulating about whether or not Comerica Park will be renamed after the bank's merger with Fifth Third. On Friday, Local 4 got a response from the company.

In October 2025, Fifth Third Bancorp bought Comerica for $10.9 billion in an all-stock deal.

The original naming rights deal for Comerica Park had been extended through 2034, but that deal was affected by the merger.

On Friday, April 17, Local 4 received the following statement from Fifth Third, implying that Comerica Park will be renamed after the 2026 season:

“Fifth Third is deeply committed to the communities we serve, including Detroit. Comerica Park is a treasured landmark with a rich history, and we understand how much it means to Tigers fans and to the city. At some point the name will change, but not until the offseason. We’ll continue to support the places and partnerships that matter most to our customers and communities."
