The newborns are currently off exhibit with their mother while animal care staff monitor their progress.

Despite their small size, the pups are hitting key development milestones, including doubling their weight in the first week alone, according to zoo officials.

Gus is temporarily separated from Kalee and the pups, which is common practice during the early stages of pup development.

Visitors can still spot him at the Edward Mardigian Sr. River Otter Habitat located near the zoo’s front entrance.

The three pups are expected to make their public debut sometime this summer.

Zoo officials said they will continue to share updates on their progress.
