Driver suffers seizure, causes crash at Southfield hospital entrance, police say

Crash pushes car into revolving doors at front entrance

SOUTHFIELD, Mich. – A man suffered a seizure while driving to a doctor’s appointment, causing a crash at the entrance of a Southfield hospital, police said.

The crash happened just before noon on Wednesday, April 29, 2026, at the entrance of Henry Ford Providence Hospital in Southfield.

Police said a 60-year-old man from Livonia was headed to the hospital for a doctor’s appointment when he had a seizure.

His SUV then struck another SUV driven by a 70-year-old Southfield woman who was stopped at the valet area.

The impact pushed the woman’s vehicle into the hospital’s revolving doors.

Both were treated for minor injuries and are expected to be OK, according to police.
