DETROIT – More than 500 skilled trades workers gathered at Michigan Central for an event highlighting a new partnership between Ford Motor Company and Carhartt, centered on supporting what organizers called the “essential economy.”
The event, held on Thursday (May 7), featured the unveiling of the 2027 Ford Super Duty Carhartt Package, a work-focused pickup designed for construction crews, utility workers, first responders, and other trades professionals.
Company leaders said the vehicle blends Ford’s heavy-duty truck platform with Carhartt’s workwear design philosophy, emphasizing durability and jobsite functionality.
Attendees included more than 500 workers from across Michigan and beyond, along with representatives from organizations supporting trades communities, including ToolBank Detroit.
The group helps provide tools and equipment to workers and nonprofits across the region.
Ford and Carhartt executives used the event to emphasize their shared history serving industrial and labor-focused customers, framing the collaboration as an effort to better support workers who rely on practical equipment in demanding environments.
The companies also highlighted broader initiatives tied to the partnership, including support for community programs that expand access to tools and resources for trades workers.
The evening included remarks from company leadership, testimonials from workers in attendance, and a live performance by country artist Niko Moon.
Officials said the partnership reflects an ongoing effort to invest in products and programs built for workers in skilled trades and related industries.
