Multiple police agencies respond to scene in Ecorse

Police vehicles from Ecorse, Wyandotte, River Rouge, and Lincoln Park were seen at the scene, along with MSP

ECORSE, Mich. – Multiple police agencies respond to a scene in Ecorse.

The heavy police presence occurred on Thursday (May 14) near Outer Drive and High Street as investigators searched a large, taped-off area for evidence, though authorities have not yet released details.

When crews arrived at the scene, officers from several departments said they were spread across the area while investigators continued processing evidence.

Police vehicles from Ecorse, Wyandotte, River Rouge, and Lincoln Park were seen at the scene, along with units from the Michigan State Police.

Officials from the involved agencies have so far declined to confirm what prompted the large police response.

The presence of Michigan State Police could indicate an investigation involving a shooting involving an officer, as the agency is often called in to handle such cases.

However, officials have not confirmed whether any officers were involved in the incident.

No information about injuries, arrests, or possible suspects has been released.
