Dog sitter gets 2 charges for striking dog that escaped Macomb County home, prosecutors say

WARREN, Mich. – A dog sitter in Macomb County was charged with two misdemeanors for striking a dog that escaped her care, prosecutors said.

The police say on May 10 they responded to an animal complaint.

The 28-year-old Warren woman was allegedly paid to care of a dog.

Police say the dog accidently escaped, in attempt to get the dog back inside the woman kicked and struck the dog repeatedly in the face.

The dog did not sustain any permanent injuries.

The woman was arraigned on May 19 on the following charges:

· Animals – Cruelty to One Animal, a 93-day misdemeanor

· Dog – Stray, a 3-month misdemeanor

The Judge granted the woman a $5,000 personal bond.

She was ordered to not have contact with animals that may be considered pets.

A Pretrial Conference before the judge has not yet been scheduled.
