Detroit police seek public’s help in identifying home invasion suspects

City offering a $1,000 reward for any tips leading to an arrest.

Detroit police are asking for help to identify two suspects involved in a home invasion that took place on Tuesday, May 19, in the city’s Jefferson Chalmers neighborhood.

The suspects, a man and a woman, reportedly broke into an unoccupied residence in the 14500 block of Scripps Street around 3:30 p.m. Police say they entered the home through a window and stole multiple tools before fleeing the scene in a gray Nissan Rogue with no license plate and plastic covering the rear window.

The man is described as Black with short black hair and a mustache, and was wearing a brown t-shirt, brown shorts and blue, white and neon shoes at the time of the incident. The woman is also Black with black hair, and was wearing a blue top with matching blue pants and white shoes.

Police are offering a $1,000 reward for any tips leading to an arrest of these suspects. Anyone with information is asked to call Detroit Police Department’s 5th Precinct at 313-596-5540, or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-Speak Up.
