The disc golf company sponsored Griffin from 2021 until he voluntarily resigned via email on Dec. 8, 2024.
After Griffin’s resignation, the disc golf company ceased contact with Griffin.
According to a criminal complaint unsealed on May 27, all employees at the disc golf company were told that Griffin’s departure was amicable and non-eventful. No one was aware of a particular reason for Griffin’s decision to cease sponsorship.
In the criminal complaint, an FBI agent detailed the allegations against Griffin and the social media posts he allegedly made targeting the disc golf company.
In February 2025, Griffin allegedly posted multiple messages to his social media account directed to the disc golf company, demanding tens of thousands of dollars and making threats towards the employees.
In one social media post, Griffin appeared to be hinting that there was racist behavior by the disc golf company. He said the company treated him badly and owed him money.
On Feb. 20, 2025, Griffin allegedly talked about the company’s recent sponsorship with another disc golfer on his social media page. He said, “Why give him 150k/ year when you could give him 110k and give me $40k? I don’t deserve anything? F--- Off.”
A member of the disc golf company’s marketing team reached out to Griffin following his public complaints. During those conversations, Griffin allegedly referenced racism and mentioned “reparations.”
An FBI agent noted in the criminal complaint that Griffin posted a three-second-long video of a gun and a case on May 29, 2025, with the caption “new toy” in the top-right corner. On June 29, 2025, Griffin posted a 20-second-long video that shows Griffin appearing to fire the handgun eight times in an outdoor gun range. On July 31, Griffin posted a 17-second-long video of using the same handgun in an indoor gun range.
Cyberstalking, threat allegations from social media videos
Griffin allegedly made multiple threatening posts on his social media account, targeting the disc golf company. The criminal complaint quoted one post Griffin allegedly posted, where he said the following in part:
“CHEHHHCK!!! MONSTERVONPROFITO,[Disc golf company], YOUR MOVE AGIN AND YOU KNOW THERE’S ONLY ONE MOVE LEFT. The Game is Over. You lost. You can resign respectfully, like any wise and respectable ChessPlayer would do... Or at 6am tomorrow, we press the RED BUTTON. The Griffin is Metaphorically going to KILL EVERYONE IN YOUR KINGDOM. If there are any buildings left or survivors, hanging on to dear life, they will be methodically EXTERMINATED/DESTROYED for fun and surety, with a sick pleasure that NO HUMAN BEING would be ok with. Revenge is a dish best served cold, but Griffin’s don’t cook, THEY FRY S--- UP LIKE CATFISH AND CHICKEN, its Finger-Lickin good for their species! The anger translator for THE GRIFFIN is SPEAKING TO YOU DIRECTLY if you couldn’t tell, just reaching out to let y’all know that your ENTIRE KINGDOM IS TRULY IN JEOPARDY, go talk to your King and Queen and DELIVER THIS MESSAGE, AT ONCE! You wanted to fake apologize and not take any action or anything to make it right? Are you serious? Didn’t you learn this year not to underestimate THE GRIFFIN??!!!!! You had Him locked in a cage, full of fire, starting him for years. He didn’t die, although we all know you hoped he would. Ask yourself, how is he going to repay that transgression?
I know you like to ignore issues and pretend like they are not there and hope they go away, maybe to make yourself seem bigger than the issue or maybe because you’re scared or just don’t know what to do because you’re backed into a corner and pissed your pants and s--- yourself. I think I see a big lump back there, did you s--- a brick? This is the last Olive Branch. There will be ABSOLUTELY NO MERCY AFTER TODAY. YOU HAVE UNTIL MIDNIGHT TONIGHT. After today, The Griffin is going to hold up a mirror and treat you just how you have treated The Griffin this entire time. Except The Griffin is BIPOLAR and is going to unleash its RAGE, TENFOLD, maybe even 100-FOLD because this is some BIBLICAL S---. Fix this, or it will be the LAST MISTAKE YOU MAKE WITH THE GRIFFIN.
I’m a young boy at heart, and you know young boys love to BLOW S--- UP!!
Tell your B------- Bosses to text me a picture of the TAX-FREE $50,000 WIRE TRANSFER BEFORE MIDNIGHT TONIGHT. They’re lucky I don’t TAX THEIR B------- and charge 100k!! See, I’m being nice.
Griffin also allegedly posted a nearly 25-minute video to social media on Jan. 3, 2026, demanding $100 million from “Monster Von Profito” by midnight.
“It needs to come directly to my bank account. You have all of my information,” said Griffin in the video. “Directly to my bank account. I’ll sit right here for twenty-nine minutes.”
Griffin allegedly later said in a video on social media, “I still ain’t got no money. I still ain’t got no email back. Alright. Cool. That’s what you want to do. You’re making the choice of what’s going to happen, Monster Von Profito, [disc golf company].”
“Why am I asking for the money? Because I need it? Of course, I need it, but that’s not why I’m asking for it. Because it’s f------ mine! That’s why,” he said in another video.
In another video posted on Jan. 3, Griffin appeared visibly angry and, at one point, screamed into the camera about the payment demands.
“You guys, some of you’ve known me for a while. I’m usually like this, or I’m in a good mood. I’m quiet. I’m to myself until recently. Right?” he said. “Because, and this is the thing, it’s kind of like, I did it as a joke earlier this year, but, you know, it’s, it’s, I feel very similar to The Hulk with it. You know? It’s like, how can you be that angry about something? I’ve been angry about a lot of things for a long time, and I haven’t said anything. Maybe there are other reasons, too. But it’s in there [screaming begins] IT’S ALWAYS IN THERE! I can control it really well. I can be really cool. But it’s always in there. Don’t forget. You don’t have until midnight anymore. 8:40. You have until 9:00. 20 minutes. I know you’re watching. Or you will be soon. And if not, you f------ should be! [unintelligible] your f------ head off. I already got the video.”
Griffin allegedly targeted the disc golf company again on Jan. 4 with intimidation and extortion demands using his social media account.
“The Decision Has Been Made,” the post read. “The Deadlines have been ignored. My Demands (which are the desires of the CELESTIAL GODS) were SPIT ON. I warned. I pleaded. Do with your time what you wish, it is all that you have left now. Just do it before 4:20 PM PST ON JANUARY 16th, 2026.”
Threatening social media post
The disc golf company publicly announced it would host a series of events on the West Coast of the United States in 2026, including one near Griffin in Washington. The event in Washington was scheduled for May 2026.
On May 18, Griffin allegedly posted a status on Facebook that read, “Feeling Evil with GriffinSports at [disc golf company].”
Griffin also allegedly posted a photo on May 18 with the caption, “Smokin’ [disc golf company] KushPacks,” and had the hashtags “#imKILLENem #huh #question #MARKS #MonsterVonProfito #MustFall #TrustFall #ComeOn[Disc golf company] #im #gonna #catch #you #like #ice #cube #caught #mikeepps #ALLabouttheBENJAMINS #BABYYYY”
Company increases security protocols
Following the statements Griffin allegedly made, the disc golf company installed a video intercom with two-way audio to monitor the front door before allowing entry. Local police also conducted a walkthrough of the building as the company provided a building layout to local emergency responders.
The company also reminded employees of safety protocols, developed active shooter standards, and updated visitor policies.
In the criminal complaint, one employee reported they were “very concerned” about Griffin’s alleged actions and felt he made legitimate threats. Another employee reported they were afraid to come to work.
Criminal complaint conclusion
An FBI agent said that, based on their findings, they believe Griffin cyberstalked and threatened with the intent to extort the disc golf company and their employees since February 2025.
