DETROIT – A body was recovered from the water near Belle Isle as Michigan State Police investigated an abandoned vehicle on the island.
The United States Coast Guard located and recovered the body at approximately 11:55 a.m. on Wednesday (June 10) after being asked to assist with the ongoing investigation.

Michigan State Police said the investigation remains in its early stages and released few details about the circumstances surrounding the discovery.
Officials said there is no danger to the public.
No information about the identity of the deceased has been released, and police said no additional information was available.
