Quadruple shooting leaves multiple family members dead at Livonia home; suspect arrested

Police said there is no ongoing threat to the public

LIVONIA, Mich. – Four adults were found dead following a shooting inside a home in Livonia.

The shooting occurred on Tuesday (June 9) around 5:47 p.m. when police said they arrived for reports of shots fired at a residence in the 19000 block of Rensellor Street near 7 Mile Road.

When officers arrived, they said they encountered a person exiting the home with their hands raised.

Officials said that the individual was taken into custody.

Local 4 received video from a viewer showing a heavy police response at the scene.

In the footage, a man appears to be handcuffed and placed in the back of a police vehicle.

Police said they then entered the residence and found two people dead from gunshot wounds inside a bedroom.

Officials said two additional victims were found in the backyard, also suffering from gunshot wounds and pronounced dead at the scene.

Police said a gun was recovered at the home.

Officials said one person, who also lived at the residence, is in custody.

Police believe three of the four victims were family members, while one was in a relationship with someone inside the home.

Officials said all four victims were adults, but their ages have not yet been released.

Police said there is no ongoing threat to the public.

The investigation remains active.
