OXFORD TOWNSHIP, Mich. – One person is critically injured after a crash involving a semi-truck Wednesday morning in northern Oakland County.
The crash happened at around 5 a.m. on June 17.

According to investigators, the 2014 Buick Regal was traveling southbound on North Lapeer Road, north of West Oakwood, and the 2024 Western Star semi-truck was traveling northbound on North Lapeer Road, attempting to use the median crossover north of West Oakwood Road.
Preliminary investigation indicates the semi-truck turned into the path of the southbound Buick, resulting in a collision.
Deputies and personnel from the Oxford Township Fire Department responded to the scene and rendered emergency aid.
Police say the Buick driver is a 30-year old from Attica Township was trapped inside the vehicle and had to be extricated by first responders. He has since been transported to McLaren Oakland Hospital, where he remains in critical condition.
Police say the driver of the semi-truck was not injured.
Investigators do not believe alcohol or drugs were factors in the crash.
The incident remains under investigation by the Oakland County Sheriff’s Office Crash Reconstruction Unit.
