MONROE COUNTY, Mich. – Lake Trust Credit Union has donated $25,000 to Habitat for Humanity of Monroe County through its annual Home Loan Giveback Program, supporting efforts to expand access to safe and affordable housing in the community.
The community-based credit union, which serves nearly 200,000 members and businesses across Michigan, donated in collaboration with its members.

Through the Home Loan Giveback Program, Lake Trust donates $100 for every qualifying mortgage, refinance, or home equity loan closed during a designated period.
The program enables members’ home-financing activity to support housing-focused nonprofit organizations.
Since the program launched in 2019, Lake Trust members have helped generate more than $351,000 for housing programs and initiatives throughout Michigan.
Habitat for Humanity of Monroe County has served the region since 1995, building and repairing homes for individuals and families seeking safe, affordable housing.
The organization works with community volunteers and partners to expand access to stable housing opportunities throughout Monroe County.
Lake Trust’s donation will also support Habitat for Humanity of Monroe County’s new year-round Tribute Giving Program. The credit union is matching donations up to $15,000 through the program, potentially doubling the impact of contributions.
The donation is part of Lake Trust’s broader investment in the Monroe community.
The credit union opened its Monroe Relationship Center in 2025 and has since increased its focus on housing access and long-term financial well-being in Monroe County.
