An investigation is underway outside a Taylor gas station after an attempted traffic stop for an outstanding felony warrant reportedly ended with four officers firing on the driver.
The shooting occurred around 11:40 a.m. outside the Sheetz convenience store in the 20600 block of Eureka Road. According to Taylor Police Chief John Blair, officers ran the plate of a U-Haul truck while on patrol and found that it was wanted in connection with an aggravated armed robbery out of Ohio.

When police attempted the felony traffic stop outside Sheetz, police said the driver tried to flee and rear ended a patrol car, which was blocking the vehicle in. When officers approached the driver he reportedly pointed a weapon in the direction of police, at which point four officers fired in self-defense, Blair said.
Local 4 counted at least 29 evidence markers at the scene, with bullet holes visible in the windshield of the U-Haul truck.
A witness who said he was using the bathroom said all he heard was gunshots and glass breaking. Another man, who said he was going to eat with his two kids told Local 4 he missed the gunfire “by minutes.”
“You never know driving anywhere what might happen,” Ken Causey said. “It’s a shame.”
Police said four officers are now on paid administrative leave, per protocol, for their involvement in the shooting.
The suspect has been taken to a local hospital and his condition is not yet known. There was also a female passenger in the vehicle who police say is wanted in connection to the aggravated armed robbery, and who has been taken into custody for questioning.
